Deep Tissue

Deep tissue bodywork targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body's surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.

Swedish

Swedish bodywork involves long, kneading strokes combined with rhythmic tapping strokes and movement of the joints. This type of massage targets the uppermost layer of muscles and aims to relieve muscle tension.

Healthcare professionals view shiatsu as a modified form of acupressure, a therapy that involves pressing specific points in the body to reduce tension and fatigue by improving blood and lymphatic circulation. Shiatsu has its roots in the concept of qi.

Sports

Sports bodywork is specifically tailored to different sports and sporting injuries. It is not a relaxing form of bodywork and can often be quite strenuous. It works by stretching tight muscles, stimulating inactive muscles and improving the condition of the soft tissue.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better. The theory is that this eases stress, and that helps your body work better. It's also known as zone therapy.

Couples

A couples bodywork is when two people are worked at the same time in the same room. We have special treatment rooms that are set up with two separate massage tables so that each client can be treated at the same time by two different therapists.

Four Hand

In a four-hands bodywork, two therapists work on one client, often using synchronized moves. A four-hands bodywork can be like experiencing two full body therapies at the same time.

Hot Stone

This type of bodywork involves the use and placement of basalt River rock on different points of the body. The rocks are heated before use and the bodywork therapist can then apply deeper pressure to areas of concern without causing any discomfort.
